A:     No. Its your choice.  Remove clothing to your level of comfort for areas of focus.

A:     You may be asked to fill out a health history form.  The massage therapist may ask you questions about any health or wellness conditions that need to be addressed.  You will be asked why you scheduled as the therapist attempts to design appropriate treatment.  You will be asked about firmness of a therapist's touch, whether you want to keep your eyes closed or open, and even the room temperature and lighting.  Music is also your choice.

Q:     The pressure isn't deep enough, but I don't want to insult the massage therapist.  What should I do? 

A:     It's a myth that massage has to hurt to be effective but you can ask for more pressure.

Q:     Do I tip the massage therapist? 

A:     For a massage at a spa or hotel, a 15 to 20 percent tip is standard.  If you're receiving a massage elsewhere, call ahead to find out if tipping is the norm.  Some therapist don't accept tips, but most do.  As a general rule, if the therapist does a great job, consider tipping.

Q:     I'm self-conscious about cellulite, hair on certain body parts or other areas, what can I do?

A:     Ask the massage therapist to avoid that area.  Or opt for therapy that is done over clothing.

Q:     What should I do if I experience discomfort?

A:     Tell your therapist during the massage.  That includes music you do not perfer.
